The augmented audio device enables users to hear the perfect sound from the performance regardless of where they are positioned in the venue.
Elton John has hailed the new technology as “incredible”.
A new wearable augmented audio device aims to revolutionise Live music events. The technology will be introduced to Irish audiences for the first time at Elton John’s concert in Dublin’s 3Arena, June 12-13. PEEX LIVE enables users to hear perfect sound from the performance, without latency and regardless of where they are positioned in the venue. Through the use of the PEEX App, users can create their own 5 channel mix of live concert sounds, in real-time, via a personal mixing desk on their phone. The technology will transform Live music events into a personalised and interactive experience.
The PEEX LIVE technology has been carefully designed in order to ensure that users are not isolated from the concert experience or the social elements of a concert. The device is provided with a set of special earbuds allowing some ambient sound to still be heard. This means the user’s social experience at the concert isn’t spoilt and allows them to continue interacting with others as normal.
PEEX offers new experiences, content and business opportunities for the whole of the music industry. Global music ticketing revenues are predicted to hit $24.6bn by 2021, and the PEEX platform is poised to grow this number further, providing new commercial opportunities for artists, labels, and venues, as well as generating additional revenue from live shows that has previously gone uncaptured.
The 72-year-old singer, whose biopic Rocketman is currently in Irish Cinemas, has hailed the start-up’s technology as “incredible”.
Elton John comments, “Throughout my 50-year career, playing live has always been so important to me. I am passionate about giving my fans my best possible performance and making sure they get the best possible experience. Over the last 4 years, I’ve been working with the talented team at PEEX, who have developed an incredible new technology that will revolutionise the way fans listen to live music. Make sure you check it out.”
PEEX will be available at the Elton John Farewell Yellow Brick Road concert in the 3Arena June 12-13. The device can be rented for €10 at the venue or pre-booked at PEEX.live
