Fifty guests attended the gala preview last night of the new Irish road trip adventure film “Poster Boys'' at the Omniplex Cinema, Rathmines. The comedy-drama is the debut film feature of director Dave Minogue and will be in cinemas from tomorrow.
In attendance on the night was RTÉ panel star Kevin McGahern; entrepreneur & broadcaster Bobby Kerr; comedian Joe Rooney, TodayFm’s Ian Dempsey, actor Kieran O’Reilly, comedian Justin Stafford and actress Amy Hughes. Irish Influencers, Patrick Blue, Adam Fogarty and Damien Broderick were also in attendance as was Silent Ghost, fashion designer Ciara Allen and musician Vyvienne Long who provided the soundtrack to the film.
Following the screening members of the cast held a Q&A that was moderated by RTÉ Journalist Abie Philbin Bowman.
The film follows the story of Al Clancy, played by Trevor O’Connell, who is duped into minding his ten-year-old nephew Karl, played by newcomer Ryan Minogue-Lee, while his sister attends a weeklong music festival in Barcelona. In a desperate attempt to save his job, the dysfunctional uncle allows his young nephew to skip school so the reluctant duo can embark on a cross country adventure in a stolen campervan.
The cast features a host of familiar faces including Amy Hughes, Ian Dempsey, Keith Duffy and Justine Stafford while the soundtrack includes hits from Bell X1, Horslips, Joe Dolan, Vyvienne Long.
Poster Boys will be in cinemas from Friday, July 9th.
